He was the son of Steven and Emma Goode of Green lane, Catshill and was the youngest of seven children. Private Goode worked in his father’s market gardening business before entering service. |

He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Harris of Barley Mow Lane, Catshill. Private Harris won the Military Medal the previous year for gallant work on the Somme. He was batman to his company captain for a few months prior to his death. Private Harris left two small children. |

He enlisted up in September 1914 and served in France from March 1915 to September 1915. He was sent home on sick leave in September 1915 until February 1916, but returned to active duty in France in February 1916 until May 1917. Corporal Harris was awarded the Military Medal while in action in France and was recommended for a commission in May 1917, and was sent back to England for Officer Training until November 1917. After being commissioned as a Sub-Lieutenant (later Lieutenant) he was returned to active duty in Italy in November 1917. Lieutenant Harris was a prominent handicap racing cyclist before the war and he believed that his fitness was a good grounding for the years ahead. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs T. Harris of Rocky Lane, Catshill. |

He and three others were brought into a casualty station with horrendous wounds and only survived a few hours. Corporal Healey was the second son of Mrs. W. Healey of Wildmoor Lane, Catshill. He was 24 years of age when he died on the 24th June 1915. Corporal Healey joined the cavalry and served in India for two and half years before the war and was transferred to France in August 1914. |

1st Class stoker HMS Pathfinder HMS Pathfinder was sunk in the North Sea on a Saturday in 1914 by a torpedo from a German submarine , and Emmanuel Rutter was among the 242 sailors scheduled by the Admiralty as missing believed dead. Emmanuel was the son of Mr. William Rutter of Golden Cross Lane, Catshill and was 27 years of age and was survived by a brother and seven sisters. He entered the navy six years ago serving on HMS Russell and on HMS Wear before being transferred to HMS Pathfinder. |

Private Service No 12357 Worcestershire Regiment 4th Battalion. Private Kings had four and a half years service in at the outbreak of war and was serving in India at the time. He was sent to the Dardanelles in April 1915 where he was wounded in the arm and was hospitalized. On recovery, in July, he was drafted back to the Dardanelles. After an engagement on August 6th he was reported missing, then subsequently reported killed. Private Kings lived in Barley Mow Lane, Catshill. |

1st Class stoker HMS Pathfinder HMS Pathfinder was sunk in the North Sea on a Saturday in 1914 by a torpedo from a German submarine , and Emmanuel Rutter was among the 242 sailors scheduled by the Admiralty as missing believed dead. Emmanuel was the son of Mr. William Rutter of Golden Cross Lane, Catshill and was 27 years of age and was survived by a brother and seven sisters. He entered the navy six years ago serving on HMS Russell and on HMS Wear before being transferred to HMS Pathfinder. |
